The Class of 2024 celebrated their Graduation at Constructor University  with the traditional Hat Toss

This week, 435 talented young minds received certificates for completing one of the undergraduate and postgraduate study programs at Constructor University in Bremen. Under the theme “Set sail”, the university community came together to celebrate an exceptional batch of graduates. On Thursday, June 12th, the festivities began with the Commencement Gala featuring inspiring commencement and keynote speeches from Prof. Mete Atatüre (University of Cambridge) and Hon. Judge Louis J. Freeh (former Director of the FBI.) On Friday, June 13th, followed the School Ceremonies, in which graduates received their diplomas.

Members of the Constructor Community celebrated our graduates as they took to the stage to receive their honors under this year’s motto “Set sail”. Members of the faculty, as well as graduates’ friends and families from all over the world, attended the emotional festivities, marked by the parting words of this year’s student speaker, Carmelina Roig, who reflected on her personal motto: "We are the sum of the people we help to shine."

Chancellor Turgut Tülü addressed the graduates on behalf of the university: “As you “set sail” into the next chapter of your life – maybe into a new job, more studies, or something completely different – I want you to remember: you are ready. Life will not always be easy, but you have the strength, the skills, and the courage to keep going.” Dr. Serg Bell, Vice-Chairman of the Board of Governors at Constructor University, highlighted how technology empowers individuals to unlock their capacities: “There is no average people. All of us look different, and our brains look equally different and learn in different ways. So we need to adapt to each person so that he maximizes his potential.” This, he explained, is a driving force for Constructor: “Constructor Group has a mission, and that’s the mission for this university as well. It’s very simple. We want to make each scientist, student, and teacher more efficient and more effective with the help of computers.”

With both a commencement and a keynote address, the event featured words of advice from not one, but two leading voices in their respective fields. Louis J. Freeh, former federal judge on the US District Court for the Southern District of New York, and Director of the FBI from 1993 to 2001, expressed his appreciation for the Class of 2025: “I am very privileged to meet the Constructor University graduates and their families on this momentous occasion. We wish them all great success, happiness and good health as they begin exciting new adventures. Their journey is more important than any destination and Constructor has prepared them for this Great Leap forward.”

Prof. Mete Atatüre, Head of the Quantum Optical Materials and Systems (QOMS) Group University of Cambridge and recent addition to Constructor University’s Board of governors, added: “Today’s graduates of Constructor University Bremen are stepping into a world that urgently needs not only their skills and knowledge, but also their curiosity, courage, and compassion. Armed with the legacy of education of exceptional quality, they are ready not just to meet the future, but to help shape it.”

After the Commencement Gala guests gathered for the first Beyond the Pond Alumni Reception, sponsored by the Alumni Association. On Friday, graduates were acknowledged for their outstanding achievements, receiving their diplomas in the presence of their families and friends during the formal Diploma Ceremonies. Numerous guests of honor, including senior university officials, faculty members and friends and supporters of the university were also present to rejoice along with the students. The festivities culminated with the traditional Hat Toss to mark this momentous occasion and special time in the lives of all graduates.

Constructor University sincerely congratulates all graduates of the Class of 2025 as they chart their course into a bright future filled with growth, success and happiness.
